Hearts and Arrows
‘Hearts and arrows’ is the name that is given to a pattern that can be viewed on a diamond with a virtually perfect Round Brilliant Cut. It is an astounding vision. If you use a special viewer and look at the diamond from the bottom, you will see hearts, and if you look from the top, you will see eight arrowheads. This was discovered in 9180 in Japan when a diamond was being evaluated for perfect symmetry. These diamonds became highly sought after, and their popularity moved onto the US in the 1990s.
These diamonds are extremely rare; research indicates that there is fewer than one percent of Round Brilliant Cut diamonds that have perfect symmetry. Nevertheless, there is a special hearts and arrows viewer that has been released onto the market to find them.
